Web 2.0 a good thing, says Australian Government. The Australian Government Information Management Office has just released a primer for Government 2.0. It’s just what it says – a compact, easy-to-read primer for those in government who are just dying to get into Web 2.0. One of the nice things it does is include some examples of government agencies that have already used blogs, wikis, Facebook, Twitter etc.
Does this mean it’s now officially OK for governments to experiment with online communities?
It might be ok Les … but most of their staff remain ‘shut out’ of most of what the web has to offer. See you in 2011 – let me know when you are in Melb next!

I spoke to the community education director of a govt environment dept recently who said that their IT department makes it basically impossible to do Web 2.0. They were resigned to being locked out.<div><br><div><div></div></div></div></body></html>
